My Favourite Book Couples

For Valentine’s Day this year I am listing my favourite couples from books, I love romance in books as I’m a true romantic at heart, so I think this is the perfect way to celebrate.
Also please note, if you haven’t read these books or series’ there will be spoilers.

Becky Brandon née Bloomwood and Luke Brandon
The Shopaholic Series by Sophie Kinsella
The original chick-lit power couple. Becky is hopeless at times (of course in an completely adorable way, and hey, aren’t we all like that sometimes) and Luke puts up with all of her madness and mayhem, and loves her all the more for it.
Tess and Nick
The Girl Series by Lindsey Kelk
It was a toss up between these two and Angela and Alex from Lindsey’s ‘I Heart’ series, but these two are just on fire.  Nick brings out the best in Tess, getting her to be daring when normally she listens to her head over her heart about everything.

Louisa and Will
Me Before You by Jojo Moyes
OH MY GOD. These two. If you’ve read this book, you don’t need me to explain why this couple are on my list, and if you haven’t read the book you should read this book now, this very second! I cannot wait for the movie, Sam Claflin is just the perfect casting as Will.
Laura from Laura’s Good Books agrees with me, and tells me why Lou and Will are a great couple.
The relationship between Lou and Will is so beautifully written. From meeting each other as Lou begins working with him as a carer, to growing closer as they spend time together. This is a truly wonderful book and I recommend it to everyone. The film is due to hit cinemas soon and I hope they do the book justice.
Hermione and Ron
The Harry Potter Series by J K Rowling
Along with many other thoughts and theories while reading the Harry Potter series, one that I was certain about was that Ron and Hermoine belonged together. It’s a case of opposites attract, Harry and Hermoine may make more sense initially, but I think Hermoine needs Ron to help her relax but Ron needs Hermoine just as much with her sensible side.

Meg and Johnny
Johnny Be Good by Paige Toon
To be honest, it was a close battle between these two and Daisy and Luis from ‘Chasing Daisy’, my favourite book by Paige Toon but since these star in four books and a novella, I feel I’ve got to know Meg and Johnny that little bit more. Getting to know Meg on her own, you wouldn’t necessarily pair her with Johnny, but once they meet and get to know one another, it was written in the stars. Also, who doesn’t dream of getting with a bad boy rock god?
Lucy and Dan
Heaven Can Wait by Cally Taylor
Lucy and Dan are  the couple on the list with the least time spent together in book, possibly any book in existence, so maybe an unusual choice for one of my favourite couples, but it’s a beautiful story especially knowing how Lucy feels about Dan, and, oh the ending was a complete shock, but utterly perfect.

Hanna and Richard
Fix You by Carrie Elks
Hanna and Richard are one of those couples in books that you know they belong together and it’s plain to see. They are absolutely great together, and the epilogue especially made me incredibly happy in the knowledge that they found each other!
Laura from Laura’s Good Books also let me know another couple that she loves from books

Holly and Gerry
P.S. I Love You by Cecelia Ahern
What could be more romantic than your husband writing you letters to help you get through life when he’s gone? From the smallest things like buying a bedside lamp to stop Holly bashing her toe on the bedpost when climbing back in bed after switching off the main light, to encouraging Holly to go for her dream job and opening her heart to fall in love again.
To me, this is true love. I love reading this book and although the film isn’t entirely faithful to it, I do enjoy the film too. May be something to do with Gerard Butler’s accent… 😉
Thank you Laura for taking part 🙂
