This book’s marketing budget was probably the highest of any book I’ve read in a long time. You could not escape this book, and most of the critics also told me this was worth a read. So of course I bought the hardback and the audiobook and got onto it straight away. I had no regrets. This book is something special.
June is pretty unlikable, she obviously commits a crime many people in the book community would think is horrendous but even excluding that fact, the way she speaks about pretty much everyone else, especially Athena, the person she plagiarises from also doesn’t warm me to her
That said, I could barely put the book down it was so compelling to find out exactly what would happen. The insight on the publishing industry was fascinating.
Simply put, this book needs to be put on your TBR Pile if it is not there already. The narration is also superb, so if you’re stuck for something to spend that audible credit on, look no further!
