    Sunday Catchup – 16th – 22nd May
    S

I have stopped doing these for a while, but I thought it would be good to start doing it again now I seemingly have my reading mojo back, and will make me focus on what I’m reading next, rather than spending days choosing.

    Read This Week:

When sisters Sam and Nessie left the city lights to take over The Star and Sixpence pub in Little Monkham, little did they realise they’d be taking on the villagers too…

Thrown in at the deep end with a wedding to organise at the same time as launching their new hotel rooms, the last thing they need is Sam’s past catching up with them.

As the scandal strikes, the only question is will the villagers stick their necks out for two relative newcomers? Or will Franny, the terrifying postmistress, see them gone for good…

Spend a lazy summer day with Summer at the Star and Sixpence – the perfect novella for those long sunny afternoons.

I really enjoyed the first novella in this series ‘Snowdrops at the Star and Sixpence’ (review here) and the short story based on Valentine’s day, so couldn’t wait to delve into this.

    Released 1st July 2016

When Glasgow journalist Shona McGilvery moves with her partner Mikey and their baby to an idyllic cottage in rural Scotland, they believe that all that lies ahead of them is happiness.

But with Mikey working offshore, the frightening isolation of the Aberdeenshire countryside begins to drive her insane…

That is, until she is rescued by a new friendship with the enchanting Valentina.

She has the perfect home, the perfect man, and a charismatic new best friend – or does she?

As her fairytale life begins to unravel, the deep dark wood becomes the least of her fears…

I have a slight obsession with the cover of this book, and the contents that lie within are also as wonderful. Had me up to 1.15am.

    Currently Reading:

Eighteen years ago, America Singer entered the Selection and won Prince Maxon’s heart. Now the time has come for Princess Eadlyn to hold a Selection of her own. Eadlyn doesn’t expect her Selection to be anything like her parents’ fairy-tale love story…but as the competition begins, she may discover that finding her own happily ever after isn’t as impossible as she’s always thought.

I loved the first 3 books in this series, and am loving this one just as much so far.

    Next Week’s Reads:

When Eadlyn became the first princess of Illéa to hold her own Selection, she didn’t think she would fall in love with any of her thirty-five suitors. She spent the first few weeks of the competition counting down the days until she could send them all home. But as events at the palace force Eadlyn even further into the spotlight, she realizes that she might not be content remaining alone.

Eadlyn still isn’t sure she’ll find the fairytale ending her parents did twenty years ago. But sometimes the heart has a way of surprising you…and soon Eadlyn must make a choice that feels more impossible—and more important—than she ever imagined.

Hats off to a gorgeous cover (though all the covers are nice, but I love purple so this one is my personal favourite. I know that I won’t be able to wait after finishing ‘The Heir’ to find out what happens in the end.

    Released 2nd June 2016

Amber is a city girl at heart. So when her boyfriend Jake Somerville suggests they move to the countryside to help out at his family farm, she doesn’t quite know how to react. But work has been hectic and she needs a break so she decides to grasp the opportunity and make the best of it.

Dreaming of organic orchards, paddling in streams and frolicking in fields, Amber packs up her things and moves to Skylark Farm. But life is not quite how she imagined – it’s cold and dirty and the farm buildings are dilapidated and crumbling.

But Amber is determined to make the best of it and throws herself into farm life. But can she really fit in here? And can she and Jake stay together when they are so different?

I really liked Heidi’s first book so cannot wait to read this one. It sounds perfect for the summer ahead.
